Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
Under the No Surprises Act, individuals who do not have health insurance or who are not using insurance to pay for their care have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much their health care is expected to cost.
If you are paying privately for therapy services with Laura Long Therapy Services, LLC, you may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services or at any time during your care.
What Is a Good Faith Estimate?
A Good Faith Estimate provides an estimate of the expected charges for the services that are reasonably anticipated based on the information available at the time the estimate is prepared.
For ongoing therapy, it can be difficult to know in advance exactly how many sessions you will need. The frequency and duration of therapy vary depending on your needs, goals, preferences, and circumstances.
Your Good Faith Estimate may therefore be based on an anticipated frequency of therapy over a specified period of time. You and your therapist will continue to discuss the frequency of sessions and your progress throughout therapy.
A Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive the services listed in the estimate.
If Your Actual Charges Are Higher Than Your Estimate
If the total billed charges from a provider are at least $400 more than the amount listed on your Good Faith Estimate, you may be eligible to use the federal patient-provider dispute resolution process.
You may also contact Laura Long Therapy Services, LLC if you have questions about your estimate or believe a charge is incorrect.
For more information about your rights under the No Surprises Act or the Good Faith Estimate dispute process, visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services at cms.gov/nosurprises or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
